Welcome To The Playhouse

Bristol Children's Playhouse is a home-from-home, nurturing setting in Eastville-Bristol with 2 fantastic outdoor learning environments including a private woodland area.

We are a charity, nursery and pre-school overseen by a board of volunteer trustees. Our ethos is to offer a supportive and personal approach, providing a community of care and education for children and their families.

We work closely with Parents/Carers to provide an inclusive preschool experience. We encourage learning through play, positive self image and respect.

We are rated as GOOD provider by Ofsted.

Our most recent inspection took place in February 2023.  Here are a few comments from the report and the full report can be read on the link below:-
  • Staff concentrate on developing positive, secure relationships with children and supporting their well-being
  • The management team and staff implement an ambitious curriculum with a clear and consistent approach. Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive strong support.
  • Children make good progress in all areas of the early years foundation stage, and any gaps in children's learning and development close quickly. 
  • All children learn about key festivals of the various cultures of the staff and children who attend the nursery. They benefit from this rich and varied environment, which promotes diversity and provides them with new encounters
  • The manager has a continual drive for improvement and strives for all children to develop a love of learning, both indoors and outdoors. Children show high levels of independence and curiosity in their play

If you are interested in a place for your child we encourage you visit our setting first. Please call or email the office to make an appointment so that we can arrange a time that is suitable.
